An 11-year-old boy, Shaikh Mustafa Uddin, student of a religious madrasa, who was allegedly burnt alive by army men at Siddique Nagar, First Lancer succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on Wednesday. It must be recalled that two unknown army men had tried to burn him alive by dousing him with kerosene. He had sustained 90 percent burns. He breathed his last at 8:50 am on Wednesday at Apollo DRDO. Following his death grief engulfed Siddique Nagar area and situation became tense since morning.
The boy’s funeral prayer was performed at Zuhr in a Masjid located at Siddique Nagar. Burial took place at local graveyard at First Lancer. In anticipation of any untoward incident heavy police force, Rapid Action Force and Task force were deployed at the funeral procession. Hundreds of people attended the funeral procession amidst shouting slogan ‘Do justice to martyr Mustafa’.
Meanwhile investigative team of city police again inspected the spot where the incident occurred and collected some evidences. Humayun Nagar police has registered a case of murder under section 302.
