Humid conditions stifle Delhiites

New Delhi: Humid conditions caused discomfort to the residents in Delhi that recorded mercury near the 40 degrees Celsius mark.

The maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius was a notch above normal for this time of the year.

The city had a minimum of 30.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average. Humidity level was recorded between 45 and 72 per cent, a MeT department official said.

The weatherman forecast light rains and partly cloudy conditions tomorrow.

“The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rains and thunderstorm are likely to occur in some areas towards the evening and night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 38 and 30 degrees Celsius, respectively,” it said.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.5 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperature settled at 25.8 degrees Celsius.
