Human rights suppression in PoK: Matter should go to IHRC, says Rijiju

New Delhi: Reacting to reports of suppression of human rights in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Minister of State for Home Kiran Rijiju on Thursday said the matter should go to the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC), as so much of brutalities are being visible.

“We have raised this concern and the international community too should also see. The matter should go to IHRC, as so much of brutalities are being visible in the Jammu and Kashmir area, which is occupied by Pakistan,” he said.

“It is not the first time that human rights violation is visible in the Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir region, especially by the Pakistani Army and their security people. The situation in the region always remains disturbing and Pakistan has never given any value or has shown any interest in maintaining human rights there.
