Human Rights Commission asks authorities to submit report on Zaki Abbas’ & Omer Raza’s deaths

Hyderabad: State Human Rights Commission has issued notice to Municipal Corporation to submit a report on the death of 3-year-old, Zaki Abbas, who died after falling into an open drain in Maula ka Chilla, Yaqutpura. The Corporation was asked to submit report before April 10.

MBT leader Amjadullah Khan filed an application stating that 3-year-old Zaki Abbas son of Kafeel Abbas, Resident of Maula ka Chilla died after falling into open drain while he was playing outside his house. The boy’s life was lost as the municipal officials left the drain open instead of laying slab on it. The application demanded arrest of the guilty and action against contractor who left the drain open.

In a separate application Amjadullah Khan also demanded probe into the case in which 11-year-old, Syed Omer Raza, resident of Hashimabad was electrocuted on January 20. He came in contact with a dangling live wire while trying to catch a kite. Responding to the application Human Rights Commission issued notice to Chairman TSPDCL, Raghuma Reddy and asked to submit report before April 10. The application stated that no ex-gratia was given to boy’s family and the tragedy occurred as the high tension wire was left hanging.
