AS DREAMS go, Humaira Mushtaq fired up to be the first female Kashmiri racer who recently made her debut in the JK Tyre National Racing Championship in Coimbatore.
Breaking The Barriers
Ms. Mushtaq is seems to revel in breaking stereotypes.
According to the reports in Times Of India, the 23-year-old has a passion for racing professionally and wants to enamoured with these beautiful machines.
An ardent Sachin Tendulkar fan, who is studying medical dentistry, Ms Mushtaq projects all the infectious – and at times daunting – enthusiasm of her generation.
“I am a medical student and also took pilot training due to my passion for machines and anything that gives me an adrenaline high. But right now, I am focused on racing,”

Perception towards Region
Born and brought up in Jammu, Ms. Mushtaq said that people’s perception towards the region need a change.
“It’s not about where you live, it’s about how you live. I personally feel I am not feeling isolated or suffocated anywhere. I will do whatever I can and I won’t like people seeing Jammu and cashmere as an isolated place. No it’s not like that, it’s very much a part (of India),” Humaira told TOI.
“I want to represent the whole of Jammu and Kahsmir. While I don’t want to get into political things, in my city we have all the access to mobile networks and broadband internet,” she added.
Speaking of his inaugural career in Coimbatore, where she participated in the FLGB4 category, Humaira said:
When I started practicing at Kari Motor Speedway, I kept going, I was really enjoying it.
