Kabul: An explosion in Afghanistan’s Herat City claimed the life of one civilian and injured five others, including a police force member. Two out of the five injured are in a critical condition, Public Herat Directorate of Herat said. According to the Herat police officials, the incident took place in Minarets road in Herat around 10 pm.
The explosives used in the attack were placed in a hand cart, officials confirmed. This is the second attack in the country after last week’s suicide attack which took place in Kabul city. Few days before, a peaceful protest in Afghanistan was ambushed by a suicide bomber where more than 80 people were killed and 200 wounded. A day before, at least 36 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed in a military operation by the Afghan National Army here following an attack on July 23 in which 80 persons were killed and over 300 wounded.
