HSC exams to start from Feb 23, SSC from March 4

Pune, January 06: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Tuesday declared the dates of the SSC and the HSC exams. While the HSC exam will start from February 23, the SSC exam will commence from March 4.

This year there was confusion among students and parents regarding the schedule of the exams as a number of working days were lost due to the swine flu scare. However, the board has decided to stick to the schedule.

According to a press note issued by the secretary of MSBSHSE T N Supe, the practical exam for the HSC students will take place from February 3 to February 20 and the SSC practical exam will be conducted from February 10 to February 26.

There will be multiple question paper sets for English (third language) and Mathematics subjects for SSC. For HSC, there will be multiple question paper sets for English only.The general Mathematics paper will be conducted for the first time this year for SSC.

The duration of the Geography paper of the HSC will be three hours instead of two and a half hours. The board has declared that the detailed timetable of the exams will be sent to schools and junior colleges soon. It will also be made available on the website.
