Human Rights Commission chairperson today asked the Telangana government to furnish information on its new Excise policy on September 11.
The commission asked the government following a representation submitted by mahila morcha of different political parties led by its president Bandru Shobharani. As the government was considering to introduce cheap liquor policy from October 1, the TDP mahila morch informed the Commission that financial position and health condition of the poor and middle class people would be affected if cheap liquor policy was introduced.
Shobharani alleged that KCR was ignoring the rights of women in the State. In spite of opposition to the new Excise policy, the former was not bothering about it. Those who met the Commission include Akula Lalita of Congress, Uppala Sharada of BJP, Satyavati of AIDWA and Bala Lakshmi of OU. (NSS)
