Hyderabad, February 21: Human resource (HR) departments in various organisations need to recognise and reward the potential of employees besides giving performance-based benefits, Dean of Kolkata-based Unitedworld Business School (UBS), Anamitra Chatterjee said today.
“HR heads need to treat non-performers with respect. HR personnel should assess the potential of employees, give challenging assignments and if they falter, they need to be supported,” he said.
Chatterjee was addressing at ‘The Indian HR Convention 2010’ on ‘Human Resource Management in Current Economic Scenario’ hosted by Unitedworld Business School here.
“A lot of people will look to change their jobs because of the perception that they are mistreated and HR’s job is to make sure that companies retain the good people and be the employer of choice,” he said.
Suman Rangabhashyam, a senior consultant at Business Simulation Training, said the law of demand and supply mercilessly applies to HR too.
