HP clears new industrial proposal worth Rs 167.55cr

Shimla, June 27: The Himachal Pradesh government today approved six industrial proposals entailing investment of Rs 167.55 crore.

The proposals were cleared at the meeting of State Single Window Clearance and Monitoring under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, an official release said here.

At the meeting the government also accepted seven expansion proposals of existing industrial units with an additional investment of Rs 174.76 crore, it added.

Addressing the meeting, the CM underlined the need for motivating the industrial units to set up environment friendly and employment generating units in the state.

He said the state government was making all efforts to get the special industrial package granted to the state by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003 extended to its original duration of 10 years.

The package provided to the state along with neighbouring Jammu and Kashmir and Uttrakhand will expire in 2010.
