How Swachh Hyderabad causing threat to beautiful lakes?

Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao dream campaign of Swach Hyderabad-Swach Telangana was launched in the city on Saturday.

Everyone made tireless efforts to beautify Hyderabad by disposing of garbage and trash all over the place in the city.

The cleaning drive was successful. But where all these rubbish is dumped? Well to make it clear, the garbage is dumped at the historical urban tanks.

As per Mission Kakatiya, a program initiated by Telangana government identified 45,000+ tanks and lakes to restore in a special intensive survey on minor irrigation tanks which is expected to cost Rs.20,000 crore over the next five years.

At one side, Telangana government is determined to restore all water bodies to their original state and on the other hand, Swach Hyderabad campaign causing danger to the lakes and the surrounding localities.

Md Afzal, Convener of Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) when asked the concerned officials, they said that they are following the orders from the higher authorities.

‘Shah Hatam Talaab,’ a histrocial lake is adjacent to Golconda fortwall (Faseel) becomes a dumping yard.

The lake abutting Naya Qila also assumes historical importance but it too is being leveled by the soil.

The ongoing campaign is a threat for the existing precious historical monuments and lakes of Telangana which are the recognized structures of India.

Therefore, it’s an appeal to the Chief Minister to visit these places and take appropriate measures for its protection.
