At the time when the prices of commodities are sky rocketing can anyone imagine that a person can make both ends meet in a salary of Rs 3 to 5 thousand? Can he admit his children in good private school? Can he undergo treatment in a good hospital in case of contingency? Undoubtedly it is an uphill struggle.
Sadly the section of our society which guides in our religious matters and safeguards our prayers is appointed on 3 to 5 thousand rupees per month.
An imam says that his salary is 5000 rupees. He says ‘I do not hold mosque committee responsible for this as the committee itself gets very meager amount as donation. When I go house to house for donation I get 10, 20, 30 rupees as donation there are only 8 persons who give 100 rupees.’
Today every house in the city has star connection and we happily pay Rs 200 per month for star connection and grudgingly donate just Rs 20 for the mosque.
