As many as 185 staff members of Raj Bhavan are likely to get housing facility and a school for their wards by September, 2017. The State Government plans to construct housing and school complexes adjacent to Raj Bhavan by spending Rs 95.50 crore.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today laid the foundation stone for the project near Raj Bhavan. Governor ESL Narasimhan, his wife Vimala Narasimhan also participated in the program of foundation laying ceremony. After performing pujas, the chief minister had visited the photo expo organized on the premises and interacted with the officials. KCR made some suggestions to them on the design and plan of the model house.
Construction of the houses in multi-storied building model will be taken up to accommodate 500 students. As per the plan a community hall and barracks for police and security personnel will be built on the premises. The Government had already sanctioned Rs 87 crore for the project. Finance Minister E Rajender, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Major Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and officials were present.(NSS)
