Housewife robbed of gold at knife-point

Hyderabad, December 29: Unidentified miscreants barged into a house at Langer Houz and after threatening the lone woman inmate in it robbed five-tola gold and fled away in broad daylight today.

The theft took place in the house of a Ajith Kumar, owner of a repair centre of air conditioners.

Ajith Kumar recently shifted to his newly-constructed house at Defence Colony and was living in the first floor while giving the portions in the ground and second floors for rent.

Around 10.30 a.m, Ajith Kumar left to his business after leaving his two children in school. And Sindhu was alone in the house.

Police said miscreants reached the first floor, knocked the door and hid nearby. Sindhu opened the door and finding none was about to close the door, when one of the miscreants forced his way into the house while the others stood guard outside.

The intruder threatened Sindhu with knife and took away five tola gold ornaments from the house. Later, he and his associates fled away after locking Sindhu inside the house.

Police suspect nearly four persons might have been involved in the incident. While one entered the house, three others maintained vigil outside the house, police said.
