Housewife killed, 15-tola gold stolen

Hyderabad, February 28: A housewife was killed and valuables in the house were stolen by a three-member robber gang who forced their way into the house today. The shocking incident took place at Anantanagar under LB Nagar police station limits.

According to the police, the victim, 51-year-old S Suvarna, opened the door, around 5 p.m., after the culprits rang bell. The moment she opened the door, the trio barged into the house and attacked her with knife.

“She was first attacked and subsequently throttled to death. Her husband, Muralidhar, who was in another room, came out after hearing desperate cries of his wife,’’ LB Nagar SI Jahangir told Express.

The attackers then injured Muralidhar with knife and threatened to kill him if he did not show where almirah keys were kept. After Muralidhar gave the keys, the miscreants took away gold ornaments weighing nearly 15 tolas.

While they were leaving the house, Suvarna’s son Pavan Kumar was entering the house. “Pavan Kumar saw the three accused hurrying out of the house. When he raised the alarm, they fled the place,’’ police said.

Meanwhile, LB Nagar police registered a case.
