The Saroornagar police on Wednesday began investigation into the death of a 24-year-old housewife who died after falling down from fourth floor of her residence.
According to police, the deceased, Sahiti, reportedly fell down from balcony of fourth floor of her residence in Janapriya Apartments in Saroorngar on Tuesday evening. She died on the spot. Sahiti’s father Sashi Shekhar lodged a complaint with the police stating that his daughter has been pushed down by her husband Srinivas Rao and mother-in-law Kalavathi.
Sahiti got married to Srinivas Rao on November 27, 2013. About seven months she gave birth to a baby girl. However, her mother-in-law was unhappy with the birth of a girl and was allegedly harassing her. Upset with the harassment, she returned to her parents’ house about three months. However, on April 13, Srinivas Rao visited her and convinced her to return home. Based on the complaint, police have registered a case of suspicious death and further investigations are on, said Sub-Inspector A Prabhakar. (INN)
