On Sunday, burglars struck at a house in OUTA Colony in Sainikpuri and stole about 360 grams of gold, silver ornaments and cash worth lakhs. M. Madhusudan, owner,was a realtor, was away at the time of theft. After returning home on Sunday, he found the door opened and valuables from the almirah missing.
According to SI Anantha Ramulu, Madhusudan returned home at around 10 pm on Saturday, and received a call about a relative having passed away. He then locked up the house and left for the relative’s house. The burglars gain admittance in the house by breaking open the lock on the main door. They opened the almirah using keys found in the house and stole the ornaments and cash.
“The house owners kept the key at a place which was easily reachable,” the police said.
