Hyderabad, July 24: For the first time, visitors entering the Assembly premises to watch live proceedings of the session would be issued photo identity cards.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council session which would commence from Friday. The sessions are likely to be held till the end of August.
According to the police, web cameras have been installed at the points where entry passes will be issued to the visitors. “Photos of the visitors will be taken and would be affixed on the entry passes. The passes would be handed over to them immediately,” Central Zone DCP P Hari Kumar said.
Police have also issued restrictions on the entry of vehicles accompanying the legislators with their supporters. Every vehicle and visitor entering the premises would be thoroughly checked, police said.
The security arrangements were made in view of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) activists storming the Assembly premises a couple of sessions back.
Meanwhile, a 1,500-strong police force drawn from the City Police, Traffic Police, AP Special Police (APSP) would be deployed for security arrangements. All the roads leading to the Assembly premises would be guarded by armed policemen.
Plainclothes policemen would also be deployed around the Assembly premises to keep a watch on suspicious elements.
