Hyderabad, January 11: The Andhra Pradesh Hotels Association has requested the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Cotporation (GHMC) not to increase the trade licence fee. APHA president, GV Krishnaiah said the proposed increase in trade licence of hotels, restaurants, bakeries and cafes would hit hard, with the hospitality industry already suffering due to recession and uncertain situation prevailing in the state.
However, the GHMC agreed to APHA’s request for categorising and rationalisation of trade licences. A few meetings would be held between the GHMC officials, APHA office-bearers and a group of hoteliers in the twin cities to arrive at a mutually agreeable trade licence fee, according to Krishnaiah. However, before finalising the schedule, a meeting of city hoteliers will be held soon.
