Hotel employee held in connection with nightershelter caretaker’s murder

A young hotel employee has been arrested in connection with the murder of a caretaker of a night shelter at Ajmeri Gate here, police said today.

Deepak Sharma (23) was arrested in connection with the killing of one Vishwajeet who was found beheaded on the
railway tracks in Shahjahanpur on November 14.

A missing report had already been registered at Kamla Market police station by the other employees of the night
shelter.

During investigation, police learnt that Vishwajeet was last seen with Sharma and two others.

Police later arrested Deepak Sharma who works as a waiter at a hotel in Paharganj.

As per police, during interrogation Sharma said he, along with two of his friends Hamid and Noori, killed
Vishwajeet after he tried to woo Noori’s girlfriend.

He told us that he along with Hamid and Noori often visited Vishwajeet at the shelter and they became good
friends.

Once Noori’s girlfriend came to meet him and she was introduced to Vishwajeet.

However, things turned sour when Vishwajeet contacted her and tried to woo her,” said a police official.

Infuriated by this, Noori planned to kill Vishwajeet.

The trio took him to Shahjahanpur on the pretext of showing him Noori’s house and the city and beheaded Vishwajeet
at the railway tracks after taking him there and fled.

Sharma has been arrested and fforts are being made to apprehend Hamid and Noori, police said.
