Hot, humid conditions prevail in Punjab and Haryana

Chandigarh: Hot and humid conditions today prevailed in Punjab and Haryana with maximum temperatures hovering several notches above normal in most parts of both the states.

Chandigarh, their joint capital, recorded a high of 37 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, the Met department said.

In Punjab, Amritsar’s maximum settled at 36.6 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a maximum of 36.6 and 35.8 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded 37.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal while Hisar and Karnal had a maximum of 35.5 and 35.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

The Met department has predicted rain or thundershowers at a few places in the two states over the next two days.
