The Govt. City College was built during the period of 7th Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur. Hostility towards Urdu is visible in the College which was started as an Urdu medium College and even the Arabic language is facing bias. The students who are taking admission in intermediate course are forced to opt for Hindi instead of Urdu or Arabic as second language. City junior college has 90 pc Muslim students who belong to poor and middle class.
Students aspiring to take admission into intermediate course in City College complained that they wanted to opt for Urdu or Arabic as second language but a Hindi lecturer is forcing them to take Hindi instead of Arabic or Urdu. He argues that the students’ second language in SSC was Hindi but there is no such compulsion, students can opt for language of their choice in intermediate.
It is also reported that Muslim students are being harassed by not allowing them to enter college if they are a bit late. The college administration avoids taking their fee for II year on account of their failure in I year. During Ramadan Muslim students who joined NCC were given no relaxation as result atleast 10 Muslim students disassociated themselves from NCC.
