The horror house ‘Amityville’ for sale!

New York: The house in New York, based on which the famous horror series ‘The Amityville Horror’ was made, is up for sale once again! The two-storey Dutch Colonial-style house in New York is cursed with an unfortunate haunted history and is listed for US$850,000.

The famous haunted house is easily recognised by horror book and film fans around the world. The house, which sits on the Amityville River, is where Ronald DeFeo Jr killed his father, mother, two brothers and two sisters in 1974. A year later, the house was sold to George and Kathleen Lutz and their three children. According to the 1977 “The Amityville Horror” book by author Jay Anson, the family began experiencing paranormal activities inside the house.
The brokers of the house said “There’ve been four owners since the murders, and none of them ran out of the house screaming, and there were no strange experiences [such as murder].” The house was listed for US$1.15 million in 2010. It was last sold in 1997 for US$310,000, and the homeowners apparently did not experience anything creepy while living there.
