Hopes heighten for investment by Netherlands in MP

Hopes have increased for establishment of fresh industrial relations between the Netherlands and the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Netherlands’ Consul-General Ms Marijke A Van Drunen gave the indication of an early agreement in this connection during her meeting with the state Industries Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya here. The agreement will be in the form of Expression of Intention (EoI) instead of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Industries Minister Mr. Vijayvargiya apprised Ms Drunen of the State Government’s intentions for speedy industrialisation of Madhya Pradesh. He also held extensive talks with her over the potential and various facilities being made available to industries in the state. On this, the Consul-General said that the Netherlands government will soon finalise tour itinerary of sending a minister-level delegation to Madhya Pradesh. According to her, EoI between the Netherlands and Madhya Pradesh state will be signed during Global Investors’ Summit at Indore in October this year or before it.

Ms Drunen gave an indication of investment in the state, especially in infrastructure and automobile sectors. Agriculture and horticulture sectors will also include in her other priorities for investment.

Senior officers of Industries Department and TRIFAC were present during the talks between the Industries Minister and the Consul-General. (pervezbari@eth.net)
