Hong Kong stocks sharply higher after morning session

Hong Kong:Hong Kong stocks rallied Thursday morning — after a six-day sell-off — as dealers welcomed reports that the US treasury secretary had invited Chinese officials for fresh trade talks.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.46 percent, or 384.38 points, to 26,729.42 by the break.
