Hong Kong stocks open with gains

Hong Kong: Hong Kong shares rose soon after the open on Friday morning following a healthy lead from Wall Street with traders upbeat after the Federal Reserve’s positive outlook for the US economy.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.59 percent, or 163.39 points, to 27,879.06 in early trade.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.09 percent, or 2.49 points, to 2,794.26 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 0.12 percent, or 1.75 points, to 1,431.36.
