Hong Kong stocks end sharply higher

Hong Kong: Hong Kong shares rallied in line with Asian markets on Wednesday, with energy firms boosted by a jump in oil prices, while investors await the conclusion of a key Federal Reserve meeting.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.15 percent, or 317.48 points, to close at 27,816.87.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.92 percent, or 25.67 points, to 2,806.81 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.73 percent, or 10.54 points, to 1,447.85.
