Hong Kong shares close week on a high

Hong Kong: Hong Kong shares ended the week on a healthy note Friday, with energy firms boosted by a bounce in oil prices, while investors are looking ahead to Donald Trump and Xi Jinping’s crucial meeting.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.21 percent, or 55.72 points, to 26,506.75.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.81 percent, or 20.75 points, to 2,588.19 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 0.93 percent, or 12.31 points, to 1,337.74.
