The Hang Seng Index rose 0.56 percent, or 151.81 points, to close at 27,084.66.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.82 percent, or 48.16 points, to 2,699.95. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, climbed 1.68 percent, or 23.17 points, to 1,404.15.
