Hyderabad, December 03 (Siasat News): An auto driver in a rare case of showing honesty, returned the bag of a passenger that was left behind in the auto, containing 40 tolas gold and cash, to the Nampally police station.
In the meantime, Inspector Ashok Chakravarthy said that Chandrakant, native of Chittapur, Karnataka, had hired an auto from Mangalhaat as he had to book his tickets from Nampally railway station.
While getting down at the station, he forgot his bag in the auto itself. When he realized his biggest mistake, Chandrakant rushed back to Nampally railway station in order to trace the autorickshaw but all his efforts went in vain.
A disappointed Chandrakant later informed the Nampally police station. However, since he did not remember the registration number of the auto, Police officials could not help him trace the auto.
He was so upset along with his wife and stayed there at the police station for some more time. The excess stay proved fruitful for the couple.
As like a Hindi film hero, the honest auto driver Syed Moinuddin entered the police station carrying the bag of Chandrakant and handed over to the police officials.
Inspector Chakravarthy was so moved by the honesty of the auto driver that he immediately rewarded him with Rs. 1000 cash.
Syed Moinuddin is the resident of Tadbun.
Not only this but Inspector Chakravarthy has written a letter to the police commissioner recommending cash reward to the honest auto driver.
This incident shows that honesty still exists and for Moin, it is the best policy too!
