Honda upgrades the Amaze

New Delhi : Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) on Thursday launched the Amaze facelift in India with prices ranging from Rs. 5.29 Lakhs to R.s 8.19 Lakhs.

The Honda Amaze 2016 receives no mechanical upgrades, as it continues to feature the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine with no change in power output figures. The Amaze’s petrol engine belts out a maximum power output of 87bhp at 6000rpm and 109Nm at 4500rpm. The diesel engine, on the other hand, produces 99bhp at 3600rpm and 200Nm at 1750rpm.

The upgrade gives the car a large number of cosmetic upgrades. It has a new interior giving it a more premium feel. The car also has a new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) engine which makes it the first petrol car in its class to offer this technology.

“Amaze has been a very successful model since its launch three years ago and we have close to two lakh happy Amaze customers in India. We are confident that the New Amaze with bold new style, premium interiors with new age features will attract even more customers. The new Amaze has been designed keeping in view the customer feedback. We value our customers and always try to exceed their expectations,” said Katsushi Inoue, President and CEO, HCIL.

Keeping in mind safety, Honda has announced that all new Honda cars from April 2016 will have dual SRS airbags and by April 2017 all cars will have dual SRS airbags as standard.

“Vehicle safety is a top priority for us at Honda. All Honda cars sold in India have ACE body structure, which ensures structural rigidity and integrity of the body shell of the car, in case of a collision. It is very encouraging to see the growing awareness of safety equipment in the minds of the consumers and so, from the forthcoming financial year, every new Honda model, introduced in the market will come equipped with Dual SRS Airbags as standard and by April 2017, our entire model line-up will have Dual SRS airbags as standard equipment,” he added.

Talking about future, Janeshwar Sen, vice-president, Marketing and Sales, HCIL said, “Honda plans to launch the BRV this summer,” which it showcased at the Auto Expo last month. (ANI)
