Pune, August 01: Can Homeopathy offer a preventive medicine for currently rampant H1N1 viral infection?
A senior Homeopath here say it can. The remedy which he has recommended is a bio-chemic preparation of Homeopathic drugs which is easily available in tablet forms at chemist shops.
Dr Srirang Oak, the homeopath, said if 3/4 tablets of ‘Ferrum Phosphoricum’ and ‘Kali Muriaticum” each are taken 3/4 times a day, it could bestow an immunity to the person, effectively enhancing his resistance against viral infection.
The homeopath has appealed to citizens to take precautionary measures in view of the fast spreading swine flu infection which has led to closure of as many as nine schools in the city.
Explaining the properties of the two medicines, Dr Oak told that ‘Kali Mur’ is a proved homeopathic remedy which strengthens the body cells, enhancing their ability to fight viruses. The other remedy to be taken in combination is ” Ferrum Phos’ which increases hemoglobin increasing resistance.
“If this simple combination is taken till the air is cleared of the virus, it can have a significant positive impact on a person’s health as the therapy has the efficacy to stop any viral infection at the first stage”, he added.
Meanwhile, various medical bodies and social groups have begun organizing workshops to educate people on ways to tackle the swine flu outbreak.
Indian Academy of Pediatrics too issued an appeal to people not get panicky over the possibility of children catching the infection.
“While reporting cases to hospitals, we should keep in mind that not everyone suffering from cold, cough and throat irritation is a prospective swine flu patient”, said Dr Jadish Dhekne.
