Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Dept. of Tourism is launching “Home Stay” Scheme in the municipal limits of Hyderabad. This scheme will provide facilities of staying at home for the tourists. House owners will provide comfortable shelters to the tourists. This scheme is being promoted on the lines of the prevalent scheme in Goa, Kerala and Rajasthan. During their stay, the tourists would get a feel of local culture, life and dishes.
Very soon, GHMC residential welfare association will convene a meeting and formulate guidelines. GHMC proposes to give rebate in property tax of such of the owners who host the tourist under this scheme. It is expected that it will cost Rs. 2000-4000 per day.
