Home Secretary Anil Goswami on Wednesday was sacked for allegedly interfering with the Central Bureau of Investigation over the arrest by the agency of Saradha Scam accused Matang Sinh.
According to reports, Goswami had earlier in the day been summoned by the Prime Minister’s Office over the issue and was invited to put forth his version.
Goswami, a 1978 IAS officer, was due to retire in July after serving a two-year tenure and was the first bureaucrat from Jammu and Kashmir to rise to the post of Home Secretary.

Matang Sinh had been arrested last week in connection with the multicrore Saradha scam. (ANI)
