Liam Neeson, the Hollywood star from Northern Ireland, is said to be considering converting to Islam following a working trip to Istanbul, according to The Sun newspaper.
Neeson, who was making a movie in the Turkish city of Istanbul some time back, had become fascinated with Islam during his stay.
Speaking to The Sun, the 59-year-old actor said: “The Call for Prayer (Adhan) happens five times a day and for the first week, it drives you mad, and then it just gets into your spirit, and it’s the most beautiful, beautiful thing”.
“By the third week, it was like I couldn’t live without it. It really became hypnotic and very moving for me in a very special way. Very beautiful”, he added.
He added there were more than 4,000 mosques in the city while some of them were just stunning, which really forced you to think for becoming a Muslim.
Reports that Neeson has converted to Islam surfaced in June 2012 also. But they were later denied by his publicist. He has also expressed admiration for the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
