Government has authorized district collectors to declare local holiday on February 2, in connection with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Special chief Secretary Public Administration M G Gopal issued orders in this connection.
The District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak are authorised to declare local Holiday on the day of poll i.e., on 02.02.2016 and on the day of counting i.e., on 05.02.2016 for all public Buildings, educational institutions buildings and other buildings that are used for conduct of poll.
The District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak are authorised to take action for declaration of local holiday for the Public and Private Undertakings / Firms located in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area to facilitate employees working in those organisations to exercise their franchise.
The District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak are authorised to prohibit sale of liquor during 48 hours prior to the hours fixed for completion of poll and also on the day of counting of votes.
