Holy was celebrated in Telangana and Seemandhra in a colourful l way and people distributed sweets during the festival.
While the youngsters celebrating the holi with different colors and traditional gaiety, the sons of two politicians were booked for their alleged misbehavior in different incidents.
A case was registered against Arvind Yadav, son of Congress MP from Secunderabad Anjan Kumar Yadav, for allegedly attacking a constable during holi celebrations here last night, police said. Arvind Yadav and his friends allegedly beat up the constable, identified as Vamsi, near Golla Khidki here last night when he “objected” to their car being parked in trhe middle of the road to celebrate Holi by setting up a bonfire in middle of road, they said. The constable later lodged a complaint after which the Hussaini Alam police booked Arvind and others under sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
“He (Arvind) and his accomplices are absconding after registration of a case. A hunt is on to nab them,” Hussaini Alam police said.
In another incident, the son of a former minister Ganta Srinivas Rao and his friend allegedly abused and manhandled an RTC official in an “inebriated” condition on the premises of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad here in the early hours on Monday, police said. Ravi Teja, son of Srinivas Rao, and his friend, Indertej consumed alcohol at a bar and allegedly abused Ramesh Goud, an RTC staffer on the RGIA premises, and pushed him aside, they said. Goud has accused Teja and Indertej of abusing him in filthy language, RGI Airport Police Station said, adding they had registered a case against the duo and were further investigating the matter.
Holy was celebrated in TDP and BJP offices also in which TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and former union minister Bandaru dattatreya, respectively, and others participated.(NSS)
