TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishna, demanded immediate release of notification pertaining to local-body elections, as the supreme court had given its green signal. In a statement here on Monday, he said that it was good to declare 34% reservation for BC’s to contest in the elections.
He said development at village level was hindered because of non-conduct of elections on time and non-release of funds to the tune of at least Rs. 4,000 crores.
He criticized that though special officers were deputed to villages, there was spread of diseases, due to poor sanitation and unhygienic conditions.(NSS)
