In order to provide the required infrastructure of water supply to the villages within the ORR as per standards, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has engaged consultants for preparation of Detailed Project Report.
The Expression of Interest (EOI) has been issued and RFP’s have been provided to the prospective consultants and last date for receipt of the offers is November 30.
Meanwhile, detailed discussions were held with ‘RWS’ Engineers to assess the present water supply status in various villages. ‘RWS’ Engineers have provided the existing details of sumps, borewells, water supply distribution arrangements etc.,
Based on the inputs, the HMWSSB is working out the further details required to meet the summer contingency and the long term proposals for construction of new reservoirs, inlet mains and distribution network. Tentative contingency plan under Calamity Relief Fund and non-CRF components, the proposals are prepared for Rs. 50 Crore for meeting the water supply crisis during ensuing summer. (INN)
