HMWSSB deploys additional tankers to resolve water crisis in Serilingampally

To mitigate hardship of customers of O & M Div XV, Serilingampally, 12 additional tankers have been deployed on Friday to supply drinking water to Chandanagar, HUDA Colony, Vemkunta, Taranagar, Subhashnagar, Bhikshapathi Enclave, Suraksha Colony, etc. About 50 free tanker trips were provided.

Further to overcome the water supply problem, some immediate interventions are proposed to be taken up on war footing basis, the HMWSSB said in a press release on Friday evening. They include installation of 30 HP online booster at Hafeezpet on PH-I and installation of 30 HP online booster near BHEL, Taranagar cross roads on PH-I; Enhancement of off-take from existing 150 to 600 mm for HUDA Ph-I & Chandanagar at old police station on Ph-I.

The water problem, which aroused at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital on December 8 has been resolved. There was some short fall felt in hospital because of replacement of valve at Asifnagar filter beds. Now water is supplied normally and today the residual chlorine was also tested and found satisfactory.

The Executive Director reviewed water supply position and Revenue Collection in O & M Div VI, VII, IX of O & M Circle-II and instructed the employees to improve Revenue Collection as more power charges to be paid because of additional pumping charges of Godavari Project Scheme. (INN)
