Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy inspected the Metro Rail corridor-III works from Country Club in Begumpet to Hitec City on Wednesday.
He was accompanied with L&TMRHL MD (designate) Shivanand Nimbargi. He instructed the engineers of HMRL and L&TMRHL to target completion of entire corridor-III up to Hitec City by early next year.
Several important decisions were taken during the inspection. They include removal of encroachments in Begumpet RoB adjacent to Begumpet Railway station (opp: Country Club) by the Town Planning officers of HMRL and launching of segments shall start from Begumpet station towards Greenlands. Metro foundation and pillar works in front of White House, Mebaz building, Wakf property in Begumpet and Greenlands junction should be completed fast by L&TMRHL.
The remaining affected portion of Rehmat complex at Ameerpet junction will be demolished to facilitate progress of viaduct works towards Ameerpet junction.
The L&TMRHL will come up with a revised scheme to expedite Ameerpet interchange station works and make a presentation to the MD within a week along with Traffic Management plan. The demolition of affected properties in Yousufguda will be expedited and the damaged roads shall be re-carpeted before the onset of monsoon.
In Krishnanagar encroachments and unauthorised advertisement boards will be removed; electrical transformers relocated; debris removed and road will be restored by HMRL in coordination with utility organisations and L&TMRHL before the onset of monsoon.
Owners of Transstroy building have been instructed by the MD to vacate the building latest by the end of the month and demolition of the building shall be started from the 1st of June this year. Similarly, the MD held discussions with the affected property owners in Madhuranagar, Krishnanagar and Jubilee Hills Road No.5 and sought their cooperation in expediting Metro Rail viaduct and station works in these areas for which they have consented.
Encroachments hindering Metro station works at Jubilee Hills Checkpost, Peddamma temple, Madhapur and Durgam Cheruvu will be removed by the Town Planning officers of HMRL in coordination with GHMC and the entry/exit works at these stations will be expedited by L&TMRHL.
NVS Reddy also instructed the engineers of L&TMRHL to remove debris, scattered construction materials etc., and take all measures to get the road in good condition from Greenlands to Durgam Cheruvu.
Project Director L&TMRHL MP Naidu; SE HMRL D. Mallikarjun and other senior engineers and officers from HMRL and L&TMRHL participated in the inspection. (INN)
