HMDA outsourced men plead for reinstatement

The ousted outsourcing employees of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) have urged the Telangana State Commissioner of Labour to take immediate steps for their reinstatement

In a memorandum submitted to the Labour Commissioner, the ousted outsourced employees of HMDA have stated that they are all either graduates or post graduates working in various departments of the HMDA as computer operators, junior assistants, attenders, sweepers and scavengers since eight to 15 years. They stated that they are poor and solely depend on their jobs for eking livelihood. But all of a sudden, services of 163 personnel working in various sections in the HMDA were terminated from April 23 and 24 without assigning any reason, they bemoaned.

They stated, “The agency which engaged their services i.e. Radan Outsourcing Services of Madhavaram Colony, Kukatpally, has stated that the Metropolitan Commissioner had ordered discontinuance of their services with immediate effect. The agency has been providing services from 2010. Prior to this, Sierra Software Solutions and Kranti Technical Services were providing outsourcing services since 2004. During the latter’s periods, there was no discontinuance of services. But the present agency has unjustifiably thrown them out of jobs”, they bemoaned.

Reacting to the discontinuance of outsourcing personnel from the HMDA, Bharatiya Janata Mazdoor Morcha State president T. Krishnamurthy also urged the Labour Commissioner to favorably consider the case of these employees on humanitarian grounds. (NSS)
