A unique joint safety initiative of HMDA and Cyberabad Police – The Patrolling Plan of ORR — was launched.
In the first phase, the stretch of ORR from Pedda Amberpet to Patancheru through Shamshabad will be covered. Five new high speed patrolling vehicles (with four being launched today) along with the same number of cranes and Ambulances being provided by HMDA will patrol the stretch of ORR. The enforcement team will be that of Cyberabad Police and Medak Police with Cyberabad Police providing 4 SIs, 4 ASIs, 24 PCs and Medak Police providing 1 SI, 1 ASI, 4 PCs / HGs a total of 38 personnel.
In addition to the enforcement team, vehicles will be equipped with speed laser guns, breath analysers, Public Address System and other safety equipment. They will be monitored presently by the Cyberabad Traffic control at Gachibowli. The Helpline numbers for ORR would be 040 – 23002424 & 8500411111.
A notification regarding the rules for Outer Ring Road (ORR) including Speed restrictions on different lanes of ORR would be in force from Sunday, Cyberabad police stated in a release. The enforcement will focus primarily on unauthorised halting, over-speeding, wrong-side driving, movement of cattle apart from others. (NSS)
