Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy today handed over 100 body worn cameras to the traffic police to curb traffic violations. Later, the home minister said that the cameras are distributed among the traffic cops for a people friendly approach and get evidence recorded through record of incidents and assaults. He exuded confidence that the new equipment will prove handy for traffic system and regulation of vehicular movement. The aim of the system is to maintain accountability and transparency for effective traffic management, he added. (NSS)
