Mogadishu, May 06: Hizbul Islam fighters have attacked a clinic in Somalia.
On Wednesday, Hizbul Islam fighters attacked the clinic, which is run by Doctors without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières, MSF) and located near Afgoye, about 20 kilometers south of Mogadishu.
One Hizbul Islam commander and one security guard working for the MSF clinic were killed, the Press TV correspondent in Mogadishu reported.
In addition, five of the clinic’s security guards were injured.
Hizbul Islam said the clinic must be shut down, even though 4000 people, including many women and children, receive assistance from the clinic.
The building was damaged when the attackers fired anti-tank rockets at it, AFP reported.
About 20 MSF staff members, including the people running the center, were briefly detained, the AFP report added.
