A poverty-stricken mother, reportedly suffering from HIV, offered her three-day old son for sale for Rs 10,000 but alert passers-informed the police who handed over the duo to a ICDS Project-run home. Police sources told UNI, the woman, identified as Bonthu Aruna Durga of Pandarapaka Village, near Rayavaram was discharged from government general hospital maternity ward this morning. Since her husband deserted her and she was suffering from HIV, she had offered the infant for sale. Police said a few childless women came forward to buy the infant for Rs 5,000 to which the mother did not agree. UNI
