History-sheeter murdered

Hyderabad, August 11: A history-sheeter was murdered at Kishanbagh in the Old City today leading to mild tension in the locality. The police said previous enmity with a relative might have led to the murder of Mohammed Ayub (34), a history-sheeter of Bahadurpura police station. He was found murdered at an open place with stab and head injuries. Ayub had differences with one of his close relatives Waheed, Bahadurpura in-charge police inspector A Ram Reddy said.

According to sources, Ayub misbehaved with Waheed’s wife sometime ago.

Waheed reportedly took up the issue with Ayub and since then the two were at loggerheads. Ayub was allegedly beaten up by Waheed a couple of days ago.

Though the matter was taken to the notice of the police, they did not act, his family members alleged.

Waheed invited Ayub to his cousin sister’s marriage held at Asad Baba Nagar last night. After the marriage, Waheed along with some of his friends and Ayub consumed liquor.

Waheed reportedly picked a quarrel with Ayub and he along with his friends stabbed the latter and subsequently smashed his head with a boulder. Later, Waheed and his friends abandoned the body at a nearby open place and fled.

The police said Ayub was involved in several murder and attempt to murder cases apart from chain snatching. He was arrested several times earlier.

Waheed and his friends were also involved in some property offences.

The police launched a hunt for Waheed and his friends Sadiq, Noor, Ibrahim and others.

Meanwhile, tension mounted in the locality following the murder of the history-sheeter. Ayub’s family members and relatives gathered in large numbers and demanded the arrest of assailants. A murder case was registered.
