One can’t take one’s eyes off the impressive granite structure located at the heart of the city. Moazzam Jahi Market was constructed in 1935 during the reign of the last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. It was named after his second son Moazzam Jah.
Unfortunately the stately Moazzam Jahi market is not the same anymore. Plants have grown in some parts of the structure including the tomb. The edifice famous as the warehouse for arms and ammunitions and dry and fresh fruits during the rule of 7th Asif Jahi Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan today cries for attention. If eruption of plants continues these can be a threat to the historical structure. Even the clock fixed in the structure doesn’t show the correct time.
The pitiable condition of the edifice calls immediate attention of the concerned authorities.
