A historical and very beautiful masjid of the thickly populated area of the city Kulsoompura is in a highly dilapidated state. There is 7500 acre land under the masjid but only 14930 sqyd land is recorded under Waqf board gazette.
According to details Masjid Kulsoompura was built in 1628 by Princess Kulsoom Begum during the reign of Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah.
On the direction of Mr. Zahed Ali Khan editor Siasat, a team of Deccan Waqf Protection Society led by president society Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Alhajari, visited the spectacular masjid.
A minaret of the masjid is bending forward. The stucco work has fallen off at many places while moss and creepers cover its minarets. Archeology department and other concerned officials should immediately pay attention towards it and take steps to restore the lost sheen and glory of the heritage structure.
