There are two cisterns in Makkah masjid. One is near the entrance while the other one is near Muhajir camp. The second one is defunct since long and is in very precarious condition. Now the situation is such that the historical fountain of Asif Jahi era has broken into three pieces.
Minority Welfare Department is responsible for caretaking of the Masjid. The question is why such carelessness was done towards such an antique fountain. Even the TRS government which often sings praises of Nizam’s rule is not paying attention towards the problems of Makkah Masjid.
